Fire Prevention & Safety on the Farm
Andy Chambers from the Glen Moore Fire Company graciously offered to talk to our club about fire prevention and safety as it relates to a farm and its equine residents. Andy grew up as a “farm boy”, riding in Pony Club, and teaching riding in the summers. So he understands the equestrian environment. For 30 years he was a policeman (including Chief of Police), is a graduate of the FBI Academy and spent time in the military. In addition, he was Commander of the regional SWAT team for counter-terrorism. Somehow he managed to squeeze in 30+ years as a Volunteer Firefighter and EMT/paramedic!
Andy shared a wealth of knowledge from his firefighting experiences with a group of about 15 BVDC members. As you can imagine he had many interesting stories to tell from his various careers!
